What is Branding | Branding is not a simple topic. There are hundreds of books and articles published on this subject. But in a nutshell, we could describe it as “a brand is an organization, service, or product that has a personality that is shaped by the audience’s perceptions.” On that note we can say that a designer cannot make a brand; only the audience can do so. A designer can help though in forming the foundation of the brand.
Branding is the practice of actively shaping your brand so that your business breaks through the clutter and grabs your customer’s attention. It’s what transforms first-time buyers into regular customers. Branding is something that helps your brand to stand out, make an impact and take your business to the next level.
Many people believe that a brand consists of a few elements like colors, fonts, a logo, a slogan, and sometimes some music. It’s considerably more complicated than that in reality. You may call a brand a “company image.”
What is Branding?
The underlying principle and the key concept of establishing a “corporate image” are that everything a company does, owns, and produces should reflect the firm’s values and goals as a whole. It is the company’s consistency of this core principle that drives it, demonstrating what it stands for, what it believes in, and why it exists. It’s more than just a few colors, typefaces, a logo, and a tagline.
In short, we can say that any action that you take to shape your brand is branding.
